Pic Kenny Smith..........McRae Seafood Ltd are awarded a plaque to commemorate the 1000th company to register for the HWL award..Lara Fulton, HR Assistant at McRae Seafood receives the plaque from Eileen Simpson from the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives along with Danny Burns and Gordon Kemp, HWL regional Advisors..The Healthy Working Lives Awards encourage employers to create a healthier workforce and cover a wide range of topics including health promotion, occupational health and safety, employability, mental health and well-being, community involvement, and health and the environment..The Livingston site, which processes seafood for sale on the high street, currently employs 195 factory staff and 40 support staff. .Staff are working closely with local Healthy Working Lives Advisers to qualify for the Bronze Award, and an internal Healthy Working Lives action group will oversee the application process. The action group is already discussing a range of health-promoting activities such as weekly ‘Fruity Fridays’ to emphasise the importance of a healthy diet, a partnership with a local gym to encourage fitness and physical activity and health information days to keep staff well informed on health-related matters..
